Nearly all foreign nationals must report a change of address to USCIS within 10 days of moving. Failing to do so may be prosecuted as a misdemeanor and could result in fines and imprisonment. This requirement excludes A and G visa holders and visa waiver (ESTA) visitors, but includes permanent residents (green card holders). Failing to comply with the change-of-address requirement can render a foreign national deportable unless the individual establishes that such failure was reasonably excusable or was not willful.

The address-change requirement is not new, but DHS announced that it intends to prosecute those who fail to comply. In the past, this almost never occurred.
