On March 21, 2025, DHS announced that beneficiaries of the CHNV parole program, which allowed certain foreign nationals to enter the United States with humanitarian parole, would see their benefits expire come April 24, 2025. Approximately 532,000 people entered the U.S. through this program, which was designed to deter unlawful immigration. While parole benefits are scheduled to expire, affected foreign nationals may be able to remain in the United States through humanitarian benefits, family-based petitions through immediate relatives, and certain employment-based petitions.
